Food Lion LLC Monitors Swine Flu Outbreak
Company prepared to respond quickly to protect customers and associates

Food Lion LLC, Bottom Dollar Food’s parent company, wants to assure you that we are closely monitoring the swine flu outbreak in Mexico and the United States. The company is taking appropriate precautions to protect our customers and associates.

Food Lion LLC reminds you that the swine flu is not a food safety issue since the swine flu is not transmitted via food. As noted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA), all pork and poultry products are safe to eat. The government will continue to work with food suppliers to monitor the nation’s food supply system to ensure the safety of food products in the United States. As always, Food Lion LLC encourages customers to follow safe meat handling procedures and cooking processes, including cooking pork at temperatures of 160 degrees or higher.

We will continue to monitor the situation to make sure we are fully prepared to protect and support our customers and associates. We fully understand the critical service we provide to our communities and will be prepared to continue to serve our customers throughout this event. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you.
