Bottom Dollar Food Awards Laurel, Maryland, Resident with Free Groceries For A Year November 6, 2008 SALISBURY, N.C. - Bottom Dollar Food awarded Laurel, Md., resident, Willis Carter, with free groceries for a year during a ceremony at the Laurel Bowie Road location on Nov. 1. Store Manager Jeff Buckholz presented Carter with gift cards totaling $5,200 - $100 for each week of the year - which are redeemable at any Bottom Dollar Food and Food Lion location. Laurel Mayor Craig Moe was also in attendance and presented the "key" to the city to Carter. Carter was the winner of the company's "Fill Up With Free Groceries for a Year" sweepstakes, which was held July 23 through Sept. 2. Customers were automatically entered each time they shopped with their Bottom Dollar Food membership card. "I was amazed, I could hardly believe that it was real, because I've never won anything like this before," said Carter. "I'm on a fixed income. This is just wonderful news." In a strategy that redefines discount shopping, Bottom Dollar Food offers shoppers both national brands and private-label products, in addition to fresh produce and quality meats at discount prices, all in a lighthearted shopping atmosphere.
