Bottom Dollar Food Campaign Supports Local Food Banks November 20, 2006 SALISBURY, N.C. - Bottom Dollar Food today announces its participation in the "Shopping for Second Harvest" campaign, which supports local food banks affiliated with the America's Second Harvest Network. Now through Dec. 30, Bottom Dollar Food customers can support their local food banks during the six-week campaign by purchasing ready-made boxes of food for $4.99. These boxes contain high-protein items, meal stretchers and holiday items, such as gravy mix. The boxes of food will go directly to a local food bank affiliated with America's Second Harvest. All donations will stay in the communities where given to feed the hungry. Donations will be added to the customer's total bill and shown on the receipt for easy tax contribution record keeping. In turn, Bottom Dollar Food will match up to $3,500 in box sales to America's Second Harvest Food Bank affiliates in its operating areas to arrive just in time for the holidays. The Food banks in the Washington, D.C., area include the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank, Capital Area Food Bank, Maryland Food Bank and Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
