We also have computer based training, training aids, and standard practices that incorporate food safety into our everyday duties. Every store is audited a minimum of eight times a year to ensure we follow our strict food safety standards. Also, since we know an educated consumer is a safer consumer, we strive to provide you with food safety tips and up-to-date recall information.
At Bottom Dollar Food, we have a thorough process to monitor and pull recalled products from our stores in a timely fashion. It begins with an electronic notification alert system that scans the newswire for product recall information. Our stores are notified of product recalls through a computer messaging and tracking system, which immediately sends a message to the store and tracks the store’s progress in responding to the recall. In addition, we immediately send a telephonic message to the store alerting them to urgent recalls. At the same time, we can place a scan block at the cash register to further ensure the product is not sold inadvertently. Finally, we will notify our Membership Card customers via e-mail of any urgent recall involving our private brand products.
